Did you know that the term ‘make something happen’ which is often given as an explanation of cause and effect was a marketing message written to sell software in a catalogue? Cause and effect, especially for students with severe, profound and complex additional needs is so much more than that.

I define cause and effect for these students as the student understanding that they are able to extend influence and control over their immediate environment and those that inhabit that space.

In this webinar, we’ll explore cause and effect and how it is the very foundation of communication and learning. Ian will discuss and share good practice examples of teaching with technology at this level using switches, touch devices, eye gaze and short message communicators.

This webinar is perfect for colleagues who are working with students at the earliest stages of learning and interaction or those who want to build on existing skills and knowledge in this area of teaching.
